Traveling cannot really be considered an “eco” activity because it’s definitely harder on our world than staying at home sweet home. But, I personally take great pleasure from getting out and experiencing the world, and learning what else is going on outside of my bubble.
So, this is what I do –>

I don’t really use cookbooks, mostly because I like to be creative, but also because there are so many ingredients that I refuse to use, and others that we all should avoid (and I am too creative to adhere to “rules,” so dismiss baking entirely!).

I suggest these cookbooks to everyone because I know they will find all things that are in line with how I prepare food. You don’t need to be vegan (I don’t like labels, and I don’t like “mock” food!), you just need to appreciate simple, clean, and delicious recipes! (Expect the 5th book on this list to be my own collection of allergy-friendly, plant-based, whole food recipes and eating culture!)

When we started writing this post, we began with what we thought was an amazing idea to create a list of “Good Wool Products” – a variety of commonly used wool items that are made with responsible wool from happy sheep.  Who doesn’t enjoy the comfort of a cozy wool blanket, or a favourite hand knit sweater from nana, or slipping into a pair of wool slippers? We want to be able to enjoy all of the comfort and warmth of our favourite woolies, but not at the expense of our health, animal’s health, or the planet’s health.

Instead of a resolution (or 10), let’s make 2013 all about accomplishing as much as we can, on our own terms. Don’t worry about future goals as much as this actual moment, and now THIS actual moment, and now THIS actual moment….you get it.

You can make change, personally and/or professionally – for yourself, for your family or widely in your community and beyond. Once you get started, action and change will surely be your favourite addiction with the most incredible outcomes…short term, and long term.

Here’s how to get this year started…starting right now:

Get Started!
